Frequent dental cleanings may help your overall health in many ways. If you are enrolled in the TRICARE Dental Program, TDP covers yearly diagnostic and preventive services. During a 12-month period, the TDP covers two routine teeth cleanings.
In general, TRICARE excludes services and supplies that are not medically or psychologically necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of a covered illness (including mental disorder), injury, or for the diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy or well-child care.
Routine dental care is not a covered service under your TRICARE For Life medical benefit.
United Concordia Dental pays 100% of the program allowance for covered services specifically related to accidental dental injuries up to a lifetime maximum of $2,000. This benefit is separate from the services covered under the unlimited annual maximum.
The Tricare Active Duty Dental Program is available for either active duty members who are referred for care by a military dental treatment facility to the civilian dental community or have a duty location and residence more than 50 miles from a military dental treatment facility.
TRICARE covers adjunctive dental care. as part of the “medical” benefit.
Retiree Dental Coverage Dominion Dental (regional only) Emblem Health (regional only) FEP Blue Dental. GEHA. Humana (regional only) Met Life . Triple-S Salud (regional only) United Concordia Dental.

Apart from missing teeth , cavities are also disqualifying factors. While it is completely possible to have military dentists fix your teeth for you, the procedure would be better performed by civilian dentists like the ones at Linhart Dentistry, especially because they specialise in cosmetic dentistry.
The TRICARE dental plan also includes dental implants and related prosthetics, extended restorative services to teeth affected by attrition, erosion, abrasion, and congenital or developmental defects. General anesthesia is covered at a cost share when provided in conjunction with a covered benefit.
