The American dentist who sparked global outrage when he killed an endangered black-maned lion in 2015 has been sighted hunting again. Walter Palmer, 60, from Minnesota, is reported to have made his return to the blood sport by travelling to Mongolia to slaughter the Altai argali -the largest wild sheep in the world.

The American dentist who sparked worldwide outrage in July when he killed Cecil — Zimbabwe’s most beloved lion — will not be charged with any crime because the hunt was perfectly legal , authorities said Monday.
Lions are the laziest of the big cats and spend up to 20 hours a day snoozing. But they are also very quick on their toes, hunt in packs and are responsible for killing around 250 people a year.
Unfortunately, lion hunting is legal in Africa . Kenya is the first country that has banned lion hunt in 1977. But at the same time, the government of South Africa , Botswana, Namibia, and Zimbabwe are the top countries that allowed the people to hunt wild animals.

The conservation charity Save China’s Tigers stated “Recent research indicates that the tiger is indeed stronger than the lion in terms of physical strength. A tiger is generally physically larger than a lion . Most experts would favor a Siberian and Bengal tiger over an African lion .”
For a lion, trophy fees range from $9,900 for a lioness, to $35,000 for a black male lion, according to Africa Hunt Lodge. The trophy fees, however, mainly go to anti-poaching efforts, according to the company.
Lions usually hunt and eat medium-sized to large hoofed animals like wildebeests , zebras , and antelopes . They occasionally also prey on larger animals, especially sick or injured ones, and eat found meat such as carrion.
We will never know just how many lions there were, but measured trends in recent decades are alarming. Today, lions are extinct in 26 African countries, have vanished from over 95 percent of their historic range, and experts estimate that there are only about 20,000 left in the wild.
